“A perfect place for a large group in the heart of Lyme Regis”
The White House is perfectly located for beach, shops, rock pools, bars, restaurants, arcade, gardens. We literally threw away the car keys for a week. The house itself is very well equipped, beautifully decorated,with everything you need, rooms are all en suite and spacious, with a kitchen, utility room, dining room, huge lounge and games room. Outside there is a small courtyard garden with seating and BBQ (which we made good use of) and the added bonus of 7 car parking spaces, which is a great addition to any property in Lyme Regis! Terry and his wife have been very accommodating from start to finish, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend a stay in The White House, we will be back!Lynne, September 2018

The White House was the perfect choice for our wonderful break. It was immaculate throughout and in a great location for the beach, walks, local attractions..... everything. Lyme Regis is a beautiful town and was right on our doorstep. “Perfect large group accommodation”
We were a group of 14 girls and found the house to be spot on! The house was very clean and modern, everything worked perfectly and the sea views from the bedrooms were amazing! It was a great location, less than 10minutes from the sea front. The owner, Terry, was incredibly helpful with questions we had beforehand and was on hand when we arrived at the property. The kitchen was well equipped and the range of living spaces were all well sized so we could all be together comfortably for meals and relaxing. The garden/outside space was very small but due to the location close to the beach this really didn’t matter. There was plenty of parking too and the semi detached nature of the property meant we did not have to be too concerned about making noise in the evening. “Birthday with friends”
We booked the house for a friends birthday, we are 6 couples and 2 children. The house was perfect with us all having our own bathrooms. Plenty of space in the lounge for the evening and great additional room, for those who want to play games or watch sport. Patio had great views of the coast, and easy walk into town and the beach. “Fab weekend away”
Had the best time at The White House for my mum's 70th Birthday. Everything you could possibly need is in the house. We had fantastic weather so spent most of the time outside having bbq's. All the bedroom were clean and all had ensuites. Very nice welcome hamper of red n white wine and local biscuits. Would defiantly recommend and will be returning.J, June 2018

“Well equipped house in great location perfect for family get togethers”
Positioned just off the main street The White House has multiple car cars spots for people staying here which was perfect. Beautifully presented and every possible bit of kitchen equipment you may need this was a home from home house- rare to find. We were a family group of 8 with 3 cars meeting up in Lyme Regis and this house would comfortably manage its 14 capacity. “Our stay could not have been better!!”
We had a wonderful time at the White House! On first walking in we were wowed by the beautiful style of the interior and how light and airy all the rooms were. This is such a practical house for a large group with loads of space. The kitchen was superbly equipped with everything we needed for cooking large group meals together and I have to highlight how delightful both Terry and his daughter were. They came over in minutes when we couldn’t work out the oven and were so friendly and made us feel really very welcome. The parking is very practical for the centre of such a compact place as Lyme and the location is wonderful! We had silent peaceful nights on comfy beds, waking up and hearing only birds and yet only 2 minutes walk to the beach and centre of Lyme Regis town. The sea views from several of the bedrooms are stunning and from the outdoor patio space. The website photos do not do the house justice. I cannot rate this house highly enough! “A great house for a big group!”
We booked The White House to celebrate a special birthday with friends and family of various ages. Each of the 7 bedrooms was well appointed with ensuite bathrooms. There are great general areas with TV and games consoles and a very comfortable large living room which was big enough for all of us to get together in. The kitchen had several toasters and kettles which made it easy when preparing breakfast for 14. The kitchen seemed to be well equipped but we didn’t actually prepare any meals there. A big dining room table which could seat all 14 but a slightly cramped dining room but still ample for the job!, The position of The White House is absolutely brilliant with loads of parking which is amazing to find in Lyme!, The owners are Terry and Jinling but we only met Terry on this occasion who was a really nice, laid back guy who just let us get on with it but clearly would have been happy to help us out had there been any problems. He was really flexible regarding timings to check in and out. He left a generous basket with wine and biscuits on our arrival which was a lovely touch. Thoroughly recommend staying here. “EXCELLENT EASTER FAMILY HOLIDAY”
My family were looking to go to Lyme Regis for Easter weekend 2018 .I started searching a few places that not only could fit us all in but also in our price range. The White House looked perfect so got in touch with the owners. “Very central location to town and the beach - fabulous cottage with stunning views of the bay from most of the bedrooms”
We booked an adults long weekend at this fabulous character cottage. Most bedrooms had amazing views over the bay. Great for entertaining, huge dining table and great seating arrangement in the main lounge area. Games room also with a multi functional games table which would be great for younger kids. Would recommend for families as well as adults for a comfortable and relaxing week/weekend away. The two double bedrooms on the top floor had stunning views and there was also a double and twin room with a Jack 'n' Jill bathroom, ideal for a family unit. “40th Birthday Treat”
We booked the White House for my Wife’s 40th Birthday. This house was a brilliant find. It is extremely well equipped down to every detail. All of the rooms are very well decorated and are large. Even though we were a group of 10, 14 could easily be accommodated. Terry and his Wife met us on arrival and were really helpful. “Beautiful House in a great location - perfect for a large family gathering!”
This property exceeded all our expectations. The location was great - just off the Main Street - with plenty of private parking (a real bonus in Lyme) and the sea views from many of the rooms were fabulous. The house was spotlessly clean and all the many en-suites immaculate.The beds were comfortable with lovely crisp white bed linen and TVs in each room. With so much attention to detail, contemporary furnishings and a very well equipped kitchen, suitable for catering for large groups, it really did feel like a home from home. The rooms were far more spacious than they appeared in the photos and it was lovely to be able to have everyone fit comfortably into one room for a film night on the huge TV! The only reason I would not recommend this property is that I would like it to be available for my next trip to Lyme Regis!!T, January 2018
“Amazing Christmas”
We booked the White House to celebrate our baby's first Christmas with both sides of the family. It was a fantastic house and exceeded all expectations! We loved everything and the owner's had even put up a tree for us. Truly the best way we could have spent our first Christmas as a new family and it felt like a real home. The location was brilliant, right in the town. All the bedrooms had en suites and were well kitted out (nearly a tv in every room). The lounge and games rooms were very spacious. “Perfect location and everything you need for a perfect break away.”
We are a group of 13 friends who enjoy meeting up to celebrate an early Christmas together. The White House is perfectly situated in Lyme Regis, and only a short walk to the shops, beaches and the Cobb. We enjoyed a takeaway from the Indian next door which was very tasty. The house is very homely and welcoming and the views from most of the bedrooms are stunning. It was very clean and modern. We had good weather so didn't get to enjoy the games room but maybe next time. There are lots of original shops in Lyme Regis and can recommend the Lyme Bay Christmas Pudding Wine. “Fantastic house for a large group”
The house is in such a great location that once you park you don't need to use your car again. The house is large enough for a big group to have plenty of space, with each room having an ensuite. We stayed here in September for a large family birthday gathering of 13 adults and 1 toddler and it couldn't have been better. Seven genuine double bedrooms all very stylish, with amazing ensuite facilities (one Jack and Jill bathroom). Great living accommodation, plenty of room and everything in the kitchen you could think of. The really large dining table is perfect for a large get together - with the added benefit of a view to the sea. There are great views from the bedrooms and the location is just perfect. Close to shops, pubs, restaurants and only a bit further to the beach. Everything was immaculate, everything worked and everything you need for a comfortable weekend away was provided. “Another amazing weekend”
This is our second time we've used The White House and it didn't disappoint. Lyme Regis is the middle point for our Ex uni house mates and suits us perfectly. Everyone except me has either one or two children and the house manages to fit us all. The facilities are great - there's a massive dinner table for us all to eat around. You couldn't get a better location, just a few metres away from Lyme's lovely shops and a very scenic short walk to the beach. On arriving in Lyme, it became clear that the White House car park is a gem .... no parking stress at all. We were impressed with the decor and furnishing ... all neat and tidy and everything worked. “Lazily lounging in lovely Lyme”
The White House was a brilliant find. I needed a house large enough for a family gathering, near enough to beach and shops for the more pedestrian of our company and found just the ticket. Over the weekend we had about 15 of us, gradually dwindling as the week wore on. TWH is just a step away from the Post Office and Tesco - easily close enough to run back for something you forgot. The house has two lovely TV/play rooms - largely unused during our stay due to the lovely weather, but certainly big enough to accommodate large numbers between them. The dining room is also big enough for everyone, although the table takes up much of the space if you are like us, you'll use most of it and be glad of the size. I lost count of the number of TVs, but one of them was so good my brother bought one on the internet to be delivered as he got home !! Lovely outdoor area, complete with BBQ. The bedrooms are all really lovely, all with on-suite, other than two of the rooms which share one between them. As a family we really love Lyme, and the central location of TWH ensures there is no excuse to investigate all our old haunts. Thanks Terry; we had a ball. “Birthday Weekend”
A great place. There were 13 of us to have a get together for a 70th birthday weekend. Ages from 70 to 8! Such a brilliant location. So close to everything. Down side was trying to get money. There is only one hole in the wall at Tesco and when we were there is never worked. You can get money from the post office but post office hours. However we managed this little hic-up. "The perfect cottage in Lyme Regis"
We booked this cottage for a group of 12 for my friends hen party. There were enough rooms for some to have one to themself and all were en suite! The sea view from the rooms is fantastic and the living room / kitchen area are big enough to comfortably seat a large amount of people. Everything was clean, tidy and plenty of amenities (iron, two kettles, dishwasher, towels and slippers provided!) we even got to use the outdoor seating / bbq area for an afternoon drink, again with lovely sea view. The cottage is a ten minute walk to HIX restaurant and a very short walk to the Cobb and other places on the high street - it's so central. The seven private parking spaces are unbelievably handy, The hosts were fantastic, friendly, flexible and so easy to deal with. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay here!

Perfect place for a special family weekend
We have just returned from a wonderful long weekend at the White House. It could not have been more perfect for our needs - a group of 12 adults and children celebrating a milestone birthday. The house is spacious, tastefully decorated and well equipped. All the bedrooms are en suite and five have sea views. The games room was perfect for my energetic nephews who loved the table football. The dining room (with sea views) was wonderful for our large family meals, and we were particularly pleased that the lounge could seat our whole group for long evenings of chatting! The other brilliant thing about the White House is its location - in the heart of Lyme Regis, but on a road just slightly away from all the tourist hubbub. It was my first visit to Lyme Regis and we loved the combination of things it had to offer - beach, beautiful walks, fossil hunting, and cafes and shops when the weather is bad. Finally, Terry was so helpful and accommodating throughout the booking process, for which we were very grateful. In short, we highly recommend this beautiful home! Fantastic family time.
I booked the White House to celebrate my husbands special birthday. I chose it because I knew that everyone could have a double bedroom and ensuite shower and it looked spacious and attractive. “Awesome house, perfect location”
The White House is absolutely perfect for a large group getaway. Terry and Jinling made a point of welcoming us personally and were most friendly and helpful; we didn't have any problems, but I'm sure they would have responded immediately if we had. Terry also answered emails very promptly pre- rental. Most bedrooms have ensuites and are equally well appointed so no arguments about who goes where, all but one have a TV. En suites/fittings/decor all modern and tasteful. There are nice touches like a welcome pack of wine & Devon biscuits and slippers for everyone. The lounge is enormous and comfortable and, if you have children, the games room with giant TV, console games, pool/table football is awesome! The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you need ( conveniently 2 kettles, cafetières to cater for large groups) with attractive serving dishes and crockery. We cooked in on the Saturday night and enjoyed a 5 course meal around the giant dining table There is designated parking for 7 cars at the back of the house down a short driveway. The house is a 5 minute walk down the hill to the centre of Lyme Regis, well placed for all sightseeing, restaurants and shops. We'd recommend the Millhouse restaurant, the Harbour Inn and the Volunteer Inn ( be warned that no food is served between 2 and 5 in most pubs; we got caught out being used to food available all day long where we live). We walked (climbed!) up to the Golden Cap where the views were just spectacular and also along Monmouth beach to the Ammonite Pavement where we found several good fossil specimens. “Amazing Place to stay.”
I stayed in the White House with my family to celebrate my Mother's 80th birthday. The trip down was a typical Friday afternoon experience, long and so it was so nice to be greeted by the owners who were extremely friendly and helpful. Parking in Lyme Regis is a nightmare and so to have ample parking at the house was a real bonus. The property itself is beautiful with plenty of space and all the rooms have been furnished to a very high quality. The views are breath taking. “We'll be back!”
I've just returned from a perfect weekend in Lyme Regis staying at The White House. From the offset when enquiring about the house Terry, the owner, was helpful and friendly making the planning of a group holiday a little less stressful. The whole party - 12 adults - were extremely happy with the house. There are no 'bad' rooms, everything was clean and comfortable, and the facilities were spot on. Whether we were cooking and sitting down to eat (comfortably at one table) or relaxing in the living room nothing had been forgotten. A home from home! We didn't even use one reception room, the games room, which was well kitted out with games consoles and table football... wine and food was more on the agenda for this weekend. In terms of location it is perfectly positioned at the top of the high street. Right in the heart of Lyme Regis, but still somewhere peaceful to retreat to. To top it all off Terry and his wife (and a friend) acted as a first rate taxi service to take us to the River Cottage on the Saturday night, picking us up at 11pm. A 5 star service. The whole group were so complimentary about the weekend and the house played such a central role in making sure the weekend was perfect for everyone. We were a party of 14 adults and one baby. Every room was comfortable. The kitchen had everything you'd need. The place was so clean that you could eat your dinner off the floor! “Fantastic seaside holiday house for a big group”
From the outside it is a picture-perfect traditional seaside villa, on the inside it is smart and modern. Loads of space for a big group, with lovely large sitting rooms and a light and well-equipped kitchen, but also separate shower rooms for all the bedrooms, so everyone had their own space. “Wonderful for families with small children”
We were a big family group with four children under 6. The White House was perfect - spacious clean and safe for them to run around. The playroom was a bonus. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. The location couldn't be better - walking distance to beach, shops and restaurants and even lots of parking spaces. We particularly liked the restaurant at the Lyme Regis Golf Club. In my opinion it is the best food in town. I can also recommend the Taste of IndiaJane D, August 2016

“Amazing location, beautiful house”
This was one of the best places I've stayed, it was perfect for our family gathering. Lovely and clean, beautifully decorated, easy. There was lots of room in the big communal areas (living rooms, dining rooms, kitchen, outside terrace). Not only was the house in an amazing location (it's located at the top of the high street, 5 mins to the beach) there was private parking which is hard to come by in Lyme! The owners made us feel extremely welcome. It's one of the nicest experiences I've had - a memorable weekend. Lyme is perfect for relaxing, walking and hiking, lots of things to do. “A wonderful stay!”
A group of 10 adults and 2 tiny babies descended upon Lyme Regis for a weekend away and we were not disappointed! We had a wonderful welcome from the owners and we were thrilled with the property. Location was top notch with beautiful views and right in the middle of town - but still very quiet. All rooms were sparkling with crisp white linen and an en suite in every room. “Absolutely perfect place for a large family gathering”
We have recently got back from a weekend at The White House celebrating my mother's 50th birthday. The house and location are absolutely fantastic. There were 10 of us staying at The White House but it could easily accomodate more (we had spare rooms!). There was plenty of space to park all of our cars at the bottom of the drive. Every room was spotless with an en suite bathroom and the house is very well equipped. The views of the coast from the house were beautiful. The house itself was a short (and lovely) walk to the coast. We ate at a very lovely fish restaurant overlooking the beach which I would also recommend (HIX Oyster & Fish House). “A cosy stay at the wonderful White House!”
I booked the house for my mum's hen do so a large group of us went down to stay. We were really impressed with the location and the house itself. Only a minute's stroll from the centre of town and an Indian takeaway next door! A real luxury to have ample parking with the house- beware as the drive is quite tight but we still got through in a 4x4! The house was very clean and spacious with the bedrooms especially being fresh and cosy. A real bonus to have an en-suite to every room as well. The top two rooms are the best- amazing views over Lyme Regis. The tea, coffee and biscuits were a lovely touch after a long drive and very handy to have towels included too. “Wonderful house and location, we loved our stay”
The White House was a perfect base for our extended family holiday. It suited all 14 of us from grandparents down to the 6 children aged between 9 and 1. The layout of the house worked really well, and it is a real bonus to have ensuite facilities for every bedroom. Plenty of parking for us all. Ideal location for popping out to the town and the beach. - Feel really lucky to have stayed in Terry' and Jinling's lovely house in Lyme Regis. Situated within easy walking distance from the centre with all its attractions - the beach, harbour, gardens, beautiful walks and pubs (I recommend The Pilot Inn). There's also an Indian takeaway next door and the house is right by a beautiful pedestrian road lined with cottages (Sherbourne Lane) that takes you down to the river, museums and the Town Mill. Terry was great to communicate with and made arriving and leaving a breeze. As others have said the kitchen is very well equipped, and there's even a dishwasher which we found very useful with a large party. Effectively having two lounges - one set up for videogames and a multi-purpose games table, and one with a huge sofa perfect for films, was a real luxury. The rooms are lovely and airy in the heat, with beautiful views and great showers. Really I have nothing but good things to say about this property and the town itself, the whole party had a great time and we would love to stay again - thanks again 🙂

“Property perfection”
You could not ask for more. The property is located right in the town- 5 mins from the sea and views to match. The rooms are all a good size and each stylishly decorated and furnished. Fittings and fixtures are of good quality. The kitchen is well equipped- we cooked a celebratory dinner for 12 and only needed to bring our own champagne flutes. We had Waitrose deliver and soon found local deli/ bakers for decent bread. Excellent coffee can be found in a cafe a couple of doors away.The long dining table lends itself to gatherings and the adjacent outdoor seating pre drinks or early coffee. If you don't cook there is an Indian restaurant next door and a traditional pub with food a few minutes towards the town- spoilt for choice.Glinys W, April 2016

We stayed at the White House for a long weekend at the end of the half term break. The house was very well appointed and all 14 of us had a great time ( youngest aged 3 oldest aged 59) . The owners were very welcoming and were happy to assist us however they could. They answered all our pre-arrival questions very promptly and very fully . “Nice house and great location - with parking.”
This was perfect for us as we wanted a house with parking for several pre-war cars and were hoping to be in the town. The house fitted the bill as well as it has double or twin rooms (rather than family) and nearly all en-suite. The rooms are all a decent size, and the shower rooms are mostly quite spacious. The kitchen is fairly well-equipped; we've rented several houses for a group of 10-12 people recently and this one actually has big enough saucepans, which they often don't. And there were enough glasses. The lounge is big enough to seat 12 people, as is the dining table (not sure you could squeeze 14 round it) - and the second lounge is available if your group has different tastes. The heating works well (once we'd sorted out how it worked) and the house was nice and warm (important in Autumn and Spring). My only gripe was not enough clothes storage space - a 2-drawer cabinet in a twin room wouldn't fit 2 people's clothes for a week - and no mirror in the bedroom - both of which would be easy to resolve.Spitfirethecat, November 2015

“A week we look forward to all year, every year!”
The White House is the perfect house in the perfect location for enjoying all that Lyme Regis has to offer. We stay here each year with extended family, some have older teenagers, some have toddlers, and we have found this house ideal for the varying needs of all. We have tried other holiday rentals in and around Lyme Regis, but this one is perfect for us with 7 beautiful ensuite bedrooms and just steps away from the shops, restaurants & park, and just an easy short walk to the beach. This is the first review that I have taken time out to do, but after recently having had a wonderful two week family holiday at The White House I felt that I wanted to write this. There were 14 of us, 8 adults and 6 children. The White House is exactly as described recently refurbished to a very high standard. It is very spacious with a great games room, enjoyed by both children and adults. The facilities were excellent and the owners have thought of everything. The parking is a very big plus, an absolute joy not having to use the car being so close to everything. We also met one of the owners who couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.Familyman206, August 2015
